Fred F. Afagh
Following a ten year industrial experience in US, Canada and overseas Fred F. Afagh joined Carleton University in 1987 as an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He became a full Professor in 1997. He has served in the capacity of Associate Chair for Graduate Studies in the Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Director of Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Carleton University. Currently he is the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Carleton University. Afagh is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario. He is the author/co-author of more than 70 publications, conference proceedings and technical reports in the area of structural dynamics, stability, intelligent structures and vibrations. He is also co-author and technical editor of three books on stability theory and structural control. He is a Senior Member of a AIAA and a number of professional and scientific institutes and societies.
